#Tatarmythology #Tatar #mythology #myths Yuha is an ancient snake that shape-shifts into a woman to lure men. Their "mediate" form is a creature with woman's upper half of the body and a snake's tail instead of legs. In human form, Yuhas appear as attractive, even tempting young women that seduce men, sometimes possessing some features hinting on its reptile nature: long tongue, pale skin, slight scales on the face, enchanting eyes. Unlike common expectations towards Tatar women to be modest and loyal wives, Yuhas demonstrate opposite behaviour as they are considered to represent promiscuity and embracement of women's sexual attractiveness. In relationships they drain life from their partners, while thriving. Thus, it's quite an interesting mythical creature to analyze, as it's basically an embodiment of the sin so judged in women in Tatar culture - sexual expression of yourself and cheating. That's the aspect that assigns Yuha to negative characters of Tatar mythology.
